Purpose
At Remote Workspace & Reading Lounge, the health, safety, and well-being of our members, guests,
and staff are our highest priority. This policy outlines our commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and
welcoming environment for everyone who uses our space, including coworking areas, event rooms,
kids club zones, and shared amenities.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, members, guests, event hosts, and vendors using or
working within Remote Workspace & Reading Lounge.
Health & Safety Principles
Remote Workspace & Reading Lounge is committed to: Preventing accidents and exposure to health
risks; Creating a culture of safety and respect; Maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local
health and safety laws, including OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
Management Will: Provide training and clear expectations to all staff. Maintain clean and hazard-free
facilities. Conduct periodic inspections of equipment and communal spaces. Respond promptly to
health and safety concerns. Maintain appropriate insurance, waivers, and emergency procedures.
Employees Will: Follow health and safety guidelines. Keep walkways, kids club areas, lounges, and
kitchens clean and organized. Report any hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately. Use
cleaning products and equipment correctly.
Members, Guests, and Event Hosts Will: Follow posted safety rules and staff instructions. Supervise
children under their care at all times unless signed into kids club. Notify staff of spills, hazards, or safety
concerns. Refrain from any behavior that creates risk to others.
Environmental Safety
Cleanliness: Shared spaces (e.g., desks, restrooms, kitchens) are cleaned daily. High-touch areas are
sanitized regularly. Air Quality: HVAC systems are maintained and equipped with appropriate filtration.
Pest Control: Facility is treated on a regular schedule to prevent infestations.
Emergency Preparedness
Evacuation: Emergency exit routes are clearly posted. Fire drills and evacuation procedures are
reviewed with staff quarterly. First Aid: First aid kits are stocked and readily accessible. Any injury or
emergency must be reported immediately. An incident report will be completed.
kids Club & Kids Club Areas
Staff are trained in basic child safety, emergency response, and first aid. Toys, surfaces, and play
equipment are sanitized regularly. Children must be checked in and out by an authorized guardian.
Maximum stay for drop-in care is 2 hours and guardians must remain on-site.
Illness and Communicable Disease Prevention
Anyone experiencing symptoms of illness (fever, cough, vomiting, etc.) is asked to stay home. Hand
sanitizer is available throughout the lounge. Remote reserves the right to request that individuals leave
the premises if visibly ill. kids club participants with signs of illness will not be admitted.
Food & Beverage Safety
Members and staff must follow basic hygiene when using kitchen areas. Refrigerators are cleaned
weekly; items left behind may be discarded. Outside vendors must comply with food safety rules when
serving on-site.
Policy Enforcement
Failure to follow health and safety protocols may result in: Verbal or written warnings; Revocation of
membership or event privileges; Removal from the premises.
Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in services, staffing, or
regulatory requirements
